Just as behind every person there is a story, so behind every boutique there is a concept, and Maison Sez is no different: in March 1885 an inspiring ballet muse was born in a snowy St. Petersburg – Tamara Karsavina. Renowned for her captivating beauty she was to become a lead ballerina in Diaghilev’s Parisian Ballet Russes. In 1910 on packing her bags for Paris she promised the loved ones she was leaving behind that she would buy a souvenir in each city she passed through.
A melting pot of all her travel collectibles, her house when she settled in Paris was over-brimming with jewels, trinkets - and the memories they evoked - of Venice, of Florence, and of Rome. It was one of these Florentine broaches – Tamara’s favourite jewel - that now lends its design as the logo of Maison Sez. She danced her way to London too, and her house here was equally magical, though different from her Parisian home.
Maison Sez, like Tamara, is a collector of all things precious and unique. The boutique, like Tamara’s houses, is ebbing with fashion gems collected over time and travels just waiting to be discovered. In lieu of Tamara’s houses, Maison Sez also has two sections: the Paris and the London section, both unique and different but both with troves of fashion treasures just waiting to be discovered.
